There isn't a Wintercroft mask I don't love. Be aware however that this one has some tricky connections (high tension until the glue dries)- beginners beware!
We used this as a Minotaur mask, turned out to be wonderful. Maybe too many pieces, building it required more time.
The Bison mask was one of the best wearing masks, but a bit of a pain to construct near the horns. I did 2 different builds, one with 1 layer of cardstock only and another with 2 layers of cardstock hot glued together. The 2 play was crucial for stability, which is normally what I find fault in my other Masks. I used elasticized fabric straps attached withhot glue instead of the flimsy template they recommend. It's the best wearing one by far, but you will spend another %30-40 of your build time just on reinforcing the material. Wintercroft delivers as usual.
The mask was made by my boyfriend and so I can’t give detailed comments. I know he was frustrated with the project at certain points along the way. But I don’t think it had to do with the pattern. It was more of a materials problem. He tried using a glue stick but it didn’t dry super fast so clothes pins worked to hold some tabs in place while the glue dried. He used a hot glue gun for some of the tabs but that was tricky because as you position the pieces, you’re in danger of burning your fingers on hot glue. Gold spray paint really looked terrific, catching the light on all the facets - he got a lot of compliments on what a cool mask it was.
Thèse are gréât. They take a lot of making and much much paper but are very clever and look great.
