Love the Wintercroft patterns; they’re well-designed and so easy to put together. Not only do they look great on card, but with a bit of tweaking they also translate to EVA foam for great cosplay ideas. The Spirit skull looks fantastic made out of foam, and I can’t wait to paint it!
it was easy to make. i did spend a good two, two and a half hours from beginning to end but nothing complicated. it fits perfectly and looks awesome. i’m going to print probably at 90% to make one for my 13 yr old son. he love it.
Hi Rene, Fletch from Wintercroft here. Thank you for building our masks - your sugar skull looks fantastic! Hope you have fun over Halloween and Day of the Dead. - Fletch
Really awesome mask. Downloaded this to build for my sons’s Halloween trick-or-treat garb. Took about 3 hours start to finish (print, glue to card, cut assemble). To be fair, not my first time with a Wintercroft mask. I’m a veteran having made four other previous designs. This was my first low-poly design. I have to say I loved it. Really great result. Couple of notes. I’m in the US, so I printed on US Letter. I printed out at a 90% size and it was a perfect (snug-ish) fit for my 14 year old. At 100% scale the designs were slightly clipped on US letter which is slightly smaller in size from UK A4 paper (I’m a British ex-pat living in the US, so I’m actually familiar with the differences).
Hi Richard - Fletch from Wintercroft here. Thank you so much for detailing the No-Poly experience! Great build and photo! Your review contains some useful info as well and we really appreciate you building our Masks. Please let us know if we can ever help with anything and keep in touch. On a side note, I am an ex-pat American living in Britain, which ended up fantastic working here with Steve on his epic Masked adventure. Great to meet you and have fun with future builds. All the best, Fletch
I've made 5 skulls since I bought the template (and plan to make A LOT more). At first the building process felt a little bit tedious, but when I got into the swing of things I started to really enjoy it. The estimated build time was pretty spot on, though I feel like I'm getting faster with every one I make. I was surprised at just how structurally solid the skulls are. The interlocking joints make it very sturdy! I accidentally printed my first template to fit to A4...but found that the slightly smaller size fits my head perfectly, so I've since printed all my templates at that size. I coated my favourite skull with some PVA glue to make it waterproof/more durable for Halloween. The combination of strong joints and a few coats of glue makes for a really sturdy final piece! I would recommend that anybody starting off should do a practice mask first, just to get the hang of the building style!...and also to test for fit!
