Watcher of wood and dropper of the unworthy, Herakon’s spirit soars the skyline watching all that approach. A bird’s eye view reveals a treeline strewn with the hanging carrion of the uninvited. Herakon is known to watch the great fire dance from above, summoning winds to feed the flames. A chiselled bone beak glistens in the moonlight, poised to pluck the unworthy from the ceremony.

Simply print the templates on paper, stick them to card, cut them out, match the numbers and join the tabs together. The Mask is scaled to fit an adult but you can make children's masks by scaling down the templates when you print - check our FAQ page for details.

AustraliaOf all the skull masks I've made, this was the fastest. It was really comfortable to wear, although I ended up adding a black strip at the back that hugged round the back of my skull. This made it more stable for the dance number we performed. A caution: don't get too carried away adding feathers at the back as 11 feathers throws the weight right off 7 worked really well for me. As with my other recent masks, I traced round the pattern pieces rather than gluing them to the card. It was no slower than gluing, and removed the risk of delaminating (earlier ones I've made have had this issue). I used white 300 GSM card which was easy to work with yet strong enough for purpose. PVA was perfect for the final assembly as it gripped quickly while still allowing for some adjustments, it's strong & permanent (unlike Aussie glue sticks), and doesn't smell weird when wearing the mask.
These masks are designed to be easily built by anyone, using local materials, removing the need for mass manufacturing or shipping and with the minimum environmental impact.
Templates are FULLY COMPATIBLE WITH BOTH A4 AND US LETTER PAPER.They are supplied along with a set of instructions as a PDF that you download immediately and print on any home printer.They are supplied plain white so that you can decorate the finished mask however you like.You are buying the templates and instructions only. You will also need access to a printer, paper, card, tape, and scissors.The masks are designed to be easy to build: you don't need to be some sort of arts and crafts wizard.
Use this file to make as many masks as you like for yourself but please don’t share or steal the templates as there was a lot of work involved in creating them. If you want to use them for any other reason then please get in touch.
