The Cat Half Mask enables one to become a skulking, slinking alleyway-strutting feline in no time. If the wild calls suddenly and you need to get something together quick, this is a great option.

Half Masks leave the back of a human head exposed and can be made in less time, using less materials than the Full Masks. All you need is a bit of ribbon or elastic for a headband and you’ll be ready to go for a quick and easy build. The Half Mask is a great option for first-time builders, kids or for when you need a Mask-on-the-go. We hope you enjoy the build as much as the finished Mask.

  • Just add whiskers with a bit of fishing wire or old guitar strings, hop the fence and go prowling for some good company and a tasty midnight snack. Just remember to bring back a treat for the master/mistress of the house (preferably when it has stopped twitching.)

  • Simply print the templates on paper, stick them to card, cut them out, match the numbers and join the tabs together. The Mask is scaled to fit an adult but you can make children's masks by scaling down the templates when you print - check our FAQ page for details. The templates come with instructions for an internal head band that can be adjusted by moving the fixing points to get a snug fit. Some templates are supplied with component colour guides to help you create identifiable markings unique to the Mask.

    • Supplied as an instant access PDF that you can download and print on any home printer
    • Choose to build with tape or gluing tabs
    • Robust polygon construction to survive the wildest of parties
    • Ideal for festivals, parties, special events or simply for fun

Love it

Made tigers for the kids for Halloween. A really simple process and I learned a lot by having made the fox mask previously. Kids loved decorating them too.

Many Cats for Many Kids

I have constructed five cat masks so far. Four are shown below. Three of the five were scaled down to 87% and two to 93% to fit child-sized faces. I used different colors of various textured 10-point cover stock I have had sitting around for about 25 years. I took your advice and added whiskers from 0.5mm monofilament fishing line - 10 whiskers per mask - and made cat eyes from some yellow gel material I also happened to have on hand. The vertical slit pupils are made from electrical tape free cut to shape and stuck to the inside. I also added two layers of 1/4" open cell EVA foam to the forehead for comfort and stability and to assure offset from the eye gels. On the smaller masks I altered the shape of the eye openings to get what I thought would be a more classically feline look by making them slope down toward the nose a bit. I have crawled up the learning curve when it comes to assembly, finally getting my technique more or less honed in. I use Fast Stick CA adhesive with an Activator to get an instant set. Spread the adhesive uniformly onto the tab with a toothpick, align the parts, press in place with a tool, and give it a shot of accelerator. These masks are for my two youngest grandchildren and their three cousins - four little girls and one guy who will have to figure out how to be a tomcat. I am loving Wintercroft!
